Confused College Student for One!

Purpose. Purpose. Purpose?

Everything has a purpose!
From the little bumble bee that pollinates numerous flowers
to the trees that provides us along with many other organisms that roam this planet with the very oxygen we breathe!
I absolutely marvel over how God has beautifully organized this world & how each thing has a precise purpose of existing.

I recently began reading The Purpose of Driven Life by Rick Warren. I took the book's suggestion and recruited a partner to take this 40 day spritual journey with me.
Of course, I picked my soul sista, Emily! She is a person I feel completely comfortable opening up to, & we frequently get into those deep conversations that involve pondering the meaning of life and discussing God & spirtuality. We discuss the topics of each of the chapters after we have read them. Yesterday the subject matter of purpose came up. Today, I was at a gift store (attempting to battle the upcoming pressure & stress of finals with beautiful christmas decor!) & I got into conversation with the sales associate about purpose. Both of these conversations have made me realize that all my life... my purpose has been given to me. Beautifully gift-wrapped and served on a 14-karat gold platter!

In the beginning, our purpose is simple: grow, play, and learn. just be a child.

In growing older, our purpose remains straighforward: grow, learn, and experience. just be a teenager.

In college, the purpose remains: learn, mature, and experience. just be a college kid.

Our purpose continually grows, evolves, and changes as we enter and leave different stages of life. The scariest part about going into the real world is not about having a real job or being on your own or being a "real" adult; however, the scary part is that society no longer tells you what your purpose has to be or what your purpose should be. The world of possibilities is beautiful yet... it is overwhelming. I think that is the scary part.
What to do? Where to go? And with whom?
I sure do hope God is attempting to gently hint me to look for the purpose that He intends.

I'm graduating from college in May, & I haven't a clue.

Baby is Brewing

We recently ventured to New Iberia to shower my sister, Tara, with gifts for the upcoming arrival of her new little bundle of joy.

Mrs. Beverly & Katherine gave Tara a beautiful baby shower.

Very intimate & quite relaxing: the perfect party for a mother-to-be.

You know... everyone says that a wedding is the joining of two families; but, I beg to differ.
The birth of a child is truly the event that bonds & fuses two families together for always.

Kudos to the Last Year

Sitting here thinking...
Pondering & wondering...
where I have been in the last year?

Thankful for where I am today
& grateful for where I already have been.

*The month of October will always be significant to my life because it represents change. Kudos to anyone venturing in the path of it.

Anticipation of the Senses

The feel of cool & crisp air in the morning.
The taste of corn dogs, funnel cakes & cotton candy.
The sound of stepping on crunchy leaves that lay themselves gently across the Earth.
The sight of purple & gold literally flowing itself out of the stadium.
The smell of a bonfire blazing in the twilight of late evening.

I love fall. I can’t hardly wait.

Who is Poppyseed?

I was so anxious.

I could not sleep!

I tossed & turned & tossed again.

I finally got out of bed & reached for the phone to dial a number I so frequently use.

Since the day my sister discovered she was going to be blessed with a baby, my family has pondered who was going to be joining our lives. The answer was finally coming our way.

A voice I could pick out of thousands answered the phone & said "we are on our way."

A eternity seemed to ease on by as I waited for the call.

A ring of the phone finally pierced the room.

A press of the button was all that stood between me & the answer.

A giddy laugh was coming through the line.

"What is it!? What is it!?"

"What do you think it is?" muffled through laughter

"Just tell me!"

"A girl....A girl....It's a girl! "

* Disclaimer: Girl or Boy.... It really didn't matter. I'm so blessed to have this little one coming into my life. I couldn't be more honored to her aunt. Let the shopping commence!

50/50 Chance

Over the past 8 months, three of my best friends have been blessed with new little bundles of joy. Now, yet again, the stork continues to visit the loved ones in my life. My one & only sister is now expecting her first baby in December.
The baby has been given two nicknames so far: Poppy Seed & Thumper. The nicknames have been fun and definitely have wonderful stories behind them that I will share one day.... but I am ready for my sister & her husband to bestow the name that will follow this baby for the rest of its' life; and this can only be done when the gender is determined!
The big question will be answered Friday morning.... the type of excitement and anticipation I have can be compared to how I felt as a child before Christmas morning. The unknown is a beautiful thing.

The Beginning

Allow me to introduce myself...
I’m Le Voyageur. 23 year old lady from the heart of the Deep South. Although I have lived here all of my life.... it never ceases to amaze me with its beauty and surprises: the people, culture, food & places. To put it simply:I’m a southern gal who cherishes Faith, Family & Friendship above all.... plus food & fun!

I’m uncertain of what direction this blog is going to go; however, I'm willing to follow it. Welcome abroad!
